Mytwosentences 83

The grandparents had a comfy cozy home filled with generations of family who had come to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of an endearing duo that always made time for each other.
As gathered guests patiently waited, the elder twain took their love on that daily walk which was a cherished time to trade soft kisses and secretly enjoy a special togetherness found rustling with the leaves.

  1. I enjoy the imagery of the green and the golden years of love. When we’re fooled at first into thinking love is always romantic only to discover it’s patience that maintains love, compromise that waters, and promises kept that endure obstacles. The generational home added with the new families following the path of the old makes me miss my grandparents. I can hear the laughter, smell the pot luck, smell the smokers and the non, feel the push of the children pin-balling their way through the world of adult legs and butts. I think I may just steal my comment and go write about this because of you.

  2. I see an important ingredient for this 50th anniversary celebration …”making time for each other” it says a lot of the respect these 2 people have for each other! , thank you for sharing this beautiful experience!

  3. This post touches my heart in a special way as my husband and I will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in April and we still have all 6 of our children and their children at our home for Thanksgiving. It is a very special time for us, and after they all go home we finish the day with just basking in the blessings of our family, not perfect but so loving and so loved.
    Thanks for this reminder today!

  4. Thank you for liking “First Snow.” Wonderful post! ๐Ÿ™‚ It reminds me of the old couples I see walking together toward the store or their car who hold hands and look like many years together have made them happier instead of bitter. What makes me sad is that this is becoming a rare sight these days.
