Mytwosentences 87

As they began fancying homemade pie for dessert, engaging and light hearted conversation descended into pointless, self-serving argumentation which uncontrollably pinballed around the table.
During this frenzied ruction of wrangling words, the youngest grandchild innocently wondered why nobody bothered to stop speaking and start listening.

      • Out of the mouths of babes, for sure. Awesome picture, and a powerful reminder for this one who to often forgets to listen.
Biblical direction tells us, “be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry” (James1:19) but most adults are to busy planning their own response to really listen (guilty myself of doing this). God works in strange ways, I recently had to have surgery on my tongue and I am doing a lot more listening these days and learning that many of my friends and acquaintances have some pretty good idea. 🙂

  2. Out of the mouths of babes! Yeah, for the one who is your youngest grandchild! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year, too! I will be pressing like since your messages are short and sweet! Meaningful, too…. hugs and smiles, Robin
