Mytwosentences 114

While the spirit and spectacle of Halloween was lurking offshore like a rapidly rolling fog pausing at a quiet coastline, a seaward facing sunflower steadfastly sang.
The mellifluous voice of this glorious blossom continued in silent song, as an uneasy ambience began to parade its inevitable shade onto the stage.

  1. Do you think the sunflower realizes its mortality? What would it think if it did? Would it think itself less than others in the garden? Not as handsome as the rose or as cheerful as the giggling daisies? I wonder what other species dwells in life pondering their own demise.
