The stronger gray branches hold the twining capillary offshoots that house buds ready to effloresce into spring.
I make it a point to gain a sense of this euphoric moment in nature during the bleak midwinter.

Today is what some would call a good day.
The blue sky was filled with clean air, the quick hug was real even when I thought it wouldn’t be and the homeless man with tattered clothes got a stranger’s donation that put a long lost smile on his very grateful face.
