Hello there. Welcome.
My name is Edward Roads. I thought it would be different, but also fun and challenging, to blog my thoughts and observations two sentences at a time… I love to read & enjoy walking around Salem, MA…. Simply put, I try to write down things that fall out of my head.
Thank You for visiting & don’t be a stranger.

  1. My father and I stayed at a B&B I believe was called the “Black Cat” way back in 1990, before I was married…a sort of final New England tour before the big day. I have a soft spot for Salem, MA and lots of “Reed” relatives living within proximity. Have you lived in Salem for a long time?

  2. Ok, LITERALLY two sentences. I like it–very creative!

Thanks for liking my post about the March installment of Photography 101. This is my first time to participate in a wordpress group, and I think it will be fun.

As you can see, I’m too wordy to stick to two sentences. Lol Have a great day!

  3. Thank you for liking my post Edward, its also a great opportunity to visit blogs back which you may not have chanced upon and your photography is stunning!
Unlike me where the words just keep coming, yours highlight the phrase ” less is more”. I will certainly be visiting again.:)

  5. My father loved the unique character of Salem and brought us to visit on more than one occasion during our childhood. I hope to bring my own two sons on a weekend visit and also take a jaunt to neighboring Gloucester, as I was both fascinated and haunted by the book “A Perfect Storm.”

  6. VERY nice concept. Will enjoy reading and viewing.
FYI, I know Salem fairly well… grew up in Lawrence, then Boston and north shore for college days. Now in Minnesota… which is culturally kind of a north shore west. As I like to say, “people in Maine understand Garrison Keillor just fine…”
    Best and Blessings,

  7. I’ve been to Salem twice and felt totally at home both times. I’ve never seen so many women owning the space they’re in and just being in one place before, at least outside of a women’s college. And I’m a sucker for New England architecture and history, so, it had me at hello.

  8. What a wonderful blog! Your two sentences are poetry in prose – and I love them! Words are so important and yours remind me of a story by Isabel Allende entitled “Two Words,” a lovely short story about the power that lies in words. I look forward to many more couplets in prose! Thanks for visiting the Noontimes.

  9. Thanks for the like on my blog yesterday. I admire your challenge of 2 sentence limits. I know better than to even try. Can’t say I’ve ever been to Salem but have a large fondess for Newburyport. Maybe next summer I’ll get to both. Good blog work.

  13. Hi Edward, I couldn’t find a contact email so I thought I’d comment here.
I read your blog everyday (even though I don’t comment – life is flat out at the moment but I always read). I appreciate your ongoing presence on my blog too – I’ve enjoyed seeing what you’ve ‘liked’ over the past few weeks! I just wanted to say that I LOVE what you’re doing with your blog! I love the concept and the creativity that you pour into your photography and accompanying sentences. I wondered if you’d be ok if I had a go at doing this one day a week on my blog – I’m thinking of doing #twosentencesTuesday. I would be more than happen to credit the idea to you, but I’d love to have a go at trying my hand at a creative writing approach like this. Let me know what you think… you never know, other’s might like to join in too – even potential for a link up 🙂

  14. I love your concept to write two sentences to a self made picture. Great idea! I like the way you write as well – it makes one curious. It makes you yearn for more than two sentences 😀 Well done & keep it up :)!!!
